These are Burgundy wines that are produced from grapes from different vineyards in 1 of the 44 villages / places of Burgundy. The name of the village where the grapes come from is emphatically printed on the bottle. These wines represent 36 percent of all Burgundy. Vineyards producing Village wines may be located next to vineyards classified as Premier or Grand Cru. This means you can find excellent Village wines with an optimal balance between quality and price. Well-known examples are the villages of Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle Musigny, Pommard, Meursault and Volnay.
